Fatsia
1 cultivar
Fatsia is an evergreen ornamental genus best known for its large, glossy, deeply lobed leaves and bold architectural form. The foliage creates an immediate tropical effect even though the plants are well suited to many mild-temperate and subtropical gardens, especially in protected shade or filtered light. Mature Fatsia can develop into substantial rounded shrubs with broad palmate leaves held on long petioles, creating a dense, lush presence in patios, courtyards, shaded garden beds, and woodland-style landscapes. In season, mature plants may also produce rounded clusters of small pale flowers followed by dark berries. With its dramatic foliage, strong structure, and ability to brighten shaded spaces, Fatsia is especially valuable as a specimen shrub, foundation plant, or large container plant for both outdoor and interior settings.
